Africa Calling Safaris Ltd is an independent company, based in Nairobi and licensed by the Kenyan Ministry of Tourism. In 2004, Nikos Pocock, after travelling in the field as a professional tour guide for over 10 years, decided to start on his own accord and use his experience to offer a more personalized and innovative service to travelers visiting the region. Indeed, professional personal service is “the” keyword of the company.
Until now, Africa Calling Safaris Ltd has organized travel plans for groups and individuals (mainly from Europe, Northern America and Australia), for television crews (BBC, National Geographic …), for magazines and photo-exhibitions (National Geographic …) and for residents and non-residents eager to do an excursion and get away from the hustling city. Africa Calling’s staff is experienced and trained to deal with all types of journeys: in group or in private, with an existing program or on a tailor made basis, sleeping in bandas or camping, in exclusive resorts and tented camps.
Thanks to the combined experiences of our people (indoors and in the field), we are able to respond efficiently to most of the demands of our varied clientele : camping and walking safaris, Mount Kenya and Kilimanjaro climbing, budget – classic – up market safaris, off the beaten track expeditions in remote regions and beach stays in Kenya and Tanzania. In Ethiopia we cover cultural/historical trips in the North, anthropological trips to the Omo-valley, South-Ethiopia (and Kenya’s Lake Turkana) and trekkings in the Simien, Bale and Danakil regions. Gorilla-trekkings and volcano climbing in Uganda are the newest programs we propose.
In the field, we uphold the quality we cherish in respect to drivers/guides and tour leaders and we guarantee multilingual assistance when requested beforehand.
